The starting price of the Galaxy Watch 8 is $349, a $50 increase from the Galaxy Watch 7's starting price of $299 in 2024. The Galaxy Watch 8 has a thinner case profile (8.6mm) compared to the Galaxy Watch 7 (9.5mm), but weighs a few grams more. The Galaxy Watch 8 has more styles to choose from, including a Galaxy Watch 8 Classic edition in 46mm with a digital control bezel and a third, bonus, customizable button. The Galaxy Watch 8 series ships with new holistic tracking tools, including a personalized running coach, antioxidant index screening, and cardiovascular load monitoring. The Galaxy Watch 8 has a maximum screen brightness of 3,000 nits, double that of the Galaxy Watch 7's 2,000 nit max brightness. The Galaxy Watch 8 is the world's first smartwatch to ship with a Gemini AI voice assistant built in.
